Spiderwort . . . a gift from a friend
My neighbor has decided that her spiderwort patch has grown too large, so I benefited by receiving some of her plants to add to our backyard!
Of course, mine will take much of the summer to get acclimated and bloom as well as hers are, but I can wait. After all, spiderwort is an easy-to-care-for perennial that blooms from March until the first hard frost. How many continual flowering plants do you know of that will do that??!!! I am really excited to see them flourish in the flower beds in our back yard.
Other than a few annuals planted in our front window boxes, we haven't been doing much planting this spring. I suppose it's because the weather has been so poor all spring that we just haven't felt like going outside and digging around in the dirt...and the rain!
Are you planting anything "brand new" in your yard this spring and summer? If so, please share what it is. I always enjoy hearing about and seeing new plants!
