    One thing you can never be sure of when selecting a new book to read, is just exactly how the book is going to be!  I picked up Where Rivers Part, by Kellie Coates Gilbert, and was a little disappointed as it at first seemed to be one of those books that was just a fluffy romance, with all the (sniff) heartache and joy of a new romance.  Boy, was I wrong!   Kellie Coates tosses the reader into the corporate world of commerce and product safety, a strained relationship with a rather clueless father, an uncertain relationship with a not too trustworthy male friend, and to top it all off, a high powered job in food safety.  Not bad for a beginning that will not let you put this book down to fix dinner.

    Dr. Juliet Ryan is not just your average up and coming young lady.  She has earned a doctorate in food safety and has a powerful, but stressful job making sure that the water that the corporation produces is a safe product.  When many children develop a life threatening bacterial disease, Juliet is devastated.  Then when it seems as if she has not correctly done her job, and is fired, her world seems to be at an end.

    As I said, don’t begin this book when you have to fix dinner, or you will need to be  prepared to send out for pizza. You will want to see how she solves the problem and heart ache that she might be responsible for the deaths of little children.  Where Rivers Part is the second book in the Texas Gold Series by Kellie Coates Gilbert.  I enjoyed this book so much that I ordered the first book in the series, and am anxiously waiting for its arrival.  I think that you will agree, this book is a keeper.
