About the film: This Is Our Time, distributed by Pure Flix, follows the post-collegiate lives of five friends, connected by their strong belief in God, who all long to make a meaningful difference in the world. But when tragedy strikes the close-knit group, their friendship and their faith are tested in ways they never imagined. What we thought: The theme of This Is Our Time is beautiful. God's timing is perfect, even if we don't always understand it. I could relate to Ethan, the "odd man out", who graduated and began working in his family's sandwich shop, but didn't see some of his goals for life being immediately fulfilled. After I graduated from college with my teaching degree, I found a job close to home. Teachers weren't in high demand, and up to 1000 teachers were applying for each teaching position available in the "big city." So, I came home and found a local position, which I loved. I think my disappointment at that stage of my life is that most of my friends were already married or engaged. I had always longed to be married and help raise a family, but it would be another four years before God led me to my husband, Elmer. I didn't find myself getting all depressed when I didn't meet Mr. Right during college or right after college. I was fairly independent, and I wasn't a man-chaser...but it was still not what I expected my life to be like. ☺ We married when we were both 27, which was considered fairly "old" in our area back then! By the time we were married, most of my friends had babies through preschoolers in their home. I learned from this that God's timing is everything - it's perfect! But back to This Is Our Time: the theme was inspiring even though the story was a little bit slow to unfold. I'm very thankful for family-friendly movies where the truths of God are plainly shared with the audience. This Is Our Time is available nationwide at most Christian online and brick-and-mortar retail stores nationwide. This Is Our Time has received The Dove Foundation’s Family Seal of Approval (earning the highest rating of five Doves) and is recommended for all ages. More often than I care to recount. I am learning to trust the Lord though and lean on him to help me deal with these difficult times.

Also, to answer the question...yes, there have been many times I have been disappointed. Those have been and are when I have to rely on the Lord...He always gets me through and I learn so much about Him and about myself in those times.

I am a THM wife and mother of 13, grandmother of 2. I was checking out your apple crisp recipe and discovered another wonderful site that I will visit frequently. I like that you have three full time jobs. Never heard it put that way before. Praise the Lord , He gives us His strength to get through and enjoy each day.

Yes. When our family made a very poor choice for job employment. It was a rough 16 months but we saw the Lord work miraculously on our behalf.
